First Stop: TGI Fridays

During the winter, I tend to go out to eat. A lot. Like I said in my previous post, I need some new restaurants to go to this season. So here I begin my restaurant journey at TGI Fridays! I went to Fridays with a group of people including my parents, brother, and best friend, Nicki. Mainly, Nicki and I decided to bring my family along for the free food, of course! ;) I began my evaluation the moment I walked in the door and ended it the moment I walked out. Let's get started!

Friendliness
We all expect to be greeted when we enter some place new, especially a restaurant. But in this case, we were not greeted or welcomed when we first walked in. The host, which happened to be male, didn't acknowledge us until he asked us how many people were in our party. That was about the only unpleasant attitude we encountered during our dinner. The waitress we had was very friendly, and I could tell just by observing the way she interacted with other servers that the rest of the staff seemed friendly as well. As we made out way out after our dinner, we were fare welled by a random waiter we had not seen all night and the same host that gave us our table earlier.

Wait Time
Although the host didn't greet us, he was definitely on top of his game. He made sure to have a stack of menus ready as we walked in and we were seated immediately after we all had made it through the door. Granted, it was a Monday night so it was not too crowded, but it is always a plus when you don't have a wait an hour to get a table, right? It was 7:02 when the waitress left with our orders. As a nice surprise, our food arrived shortly after at 7:14.

Sizzling Chicken & Shrimp
$13.89
Cleanliness
The first thing I noticed when I got to our table was crumbs left from the people before us on the table. How hard is it to wipe off a table? Come on. Other than that, the main floors were well swept and the restaurant seemed very clean and organized.

Caribbean Chicken Sandwich
$9.69
Waitress
To begin her time as our waitress, she asked my family if we were a part of the Give Me More Strips program. My parents said they thought so but weren't completely positive, and she gave us the free chips & salsa anyways! You can never turn down free food! Although she forgot our plates and silverware for our appetizer, she was a really great waitress. She made it look rather easy, actually. She visited our table multiple times during our dinner to check up on us and get us refills despite the other tables she had. She had great customer service. My mom ordered a salad, but forgot to ask for the dressing on the side. She didn't realize she forgot that until the salad arrived at our table with the rest of our food. When she explained to the waitress what she did, the waitress immediately offered to have it remade at no extra cost. Nice, huh?

Food
TGI Fridays is a perfect place to go for people with different food choices. The variety on the menu was fantastic, along with many drink selections: alcoholic and nonalcoholic. Like I mentioned before, I am a picky eater. So take this advice at your own risk! I personally did not like the soft pretzels, but everyone else I was with loved them. My favorite dish of the night was the Sizzling Chicken & Shrimp. Included in it was grilled chicken breast and shrimp with lots of flavor. If you have a taste for something spicy, yet want some meat and pasta together, the Cajun Shrimp & Chicken Pasta is your dish! The cajun twist made this meal excellent. I topped off my meal with a dessert called the Salted Caramel Cake. Although it did not meet my expectations, it was still really good. Nicki tried the Whiskey Cake which was a huge hit with everyone at the table. The hint of the Jack Daniel's Whiskey sauce on the toffee cake was genius.

Prices
For the amount and quality of our food, the prices were excellent. It's more expensive than most fast food, but also gives you better and healthier choices. Yet, it is still not a five course meal and is convenient when you don't want to spend a fortune on a night out to dinner. For people who are on a tighter budget, they have great options for you too! The Pick 2 for $15.99 or Pick 2 for $10 with delicious selections for both.

Salted Caramel Cake
$5.99
Overall
This was a great experience. With great service to filling, delicious food, it is easy to say I will definitely be visiting again. Although there were a few setbacks, these issues were tiny and easy to fix. I can only hope that I don't experience these things next time I visit to make my experience FIVE STARS! Glad to know I have found a new restaurant to add to my favorites! Make sure to check back next month for my ratings on another restaurant of your choice!

Branching Out

I've got to admit, I have a weakspot for Chili's.
But recently I've found myself wanting to expand my horizons and try some new restaurants! With my picky appetite, this should be interesting.. I know. Ideally, I would like to visit each restaurant and rate different aspects to hopefully discover some new favorites! :)  Any suggestions for restaurants are highly reccomended and appreciated!
